Description:
Daniel Ottensamer is a young clarinet virtuoso and principal of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Born in a musical environment, Daniel Ottenzamer has absorbed a great deal of Viennese traditions, and is the 21st century heir to the Viennese school of clarinet music represented by Urach, Boskovsky, Prinz, and others. The album includes the title track "A Rose-Colored Life" and "Under the Paris Sky," two of the best-known songs by the famous singer Edith Piaf, as well as masterpieces by French composers who loved the clarinet. The collaboration and arrangements are by Berlin Philharmonic cellist and Philharmonics member Stefan Koncz, a close friend of Ottenzamer's. Koncz conducts the Munich Symphony Orchestra and also participates as cellist on two pieces. Year recorded: November 30-December 1, 2017 / Location: Bavaria Music Studio, Munich
