Description:
[Sony Classical Masterpieces Collection 1000] These are the masterpieces of classical music that have moved the world for 100 years! From Casals to Midori Goto, Sony Music's two major classical labels, Sony Classical and RCA RED SEAL, have a wide variety of classical masterpieces, classic discs, super discs, fixed discs, lost discs, odd discs, rare discs, and treasures, including new liner notes and some world/Japan first CD releases, at an astounding price! The series of two separate releases for 1,000 yen plus tax (1,500 yen plus tax for the 2-CD set) will continue in 2016. This is a rare session recording by Takashi Asahina, who made a remarkable number of live recordings throughout his life, and although recorded at the age of 80, the music is of course vigorous and powerful. The "Doppelkoncerto" with Yoshio Unno and Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, two of Japan's most veteran soloists, is a moving piece of dense music sung slowly and at a slow tempo. The "Overture to the University Celebration," the only recording by Asahina, is also a strong and responsive performance, as is typical of Asahina. Limited Time Edition (until the end of March, 2018) / Liner notes / Year of recording: May 11 & 12, 1988 / Location: ]Ayase City Cultural Hall, Kanagawa, Japan
