The third son of the famous German conductor Kurt Sanderling, Michael Sanderling is currently the focus of much attention in Europe, and this is the first release of his big project for Sony Classical with the prestigious orchestra Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition to the musicality that he inherited from his father, he is also gaining recognition for his fresh interpretation of music with careful attention to the string parts, which is unique to his cellist background, and his unique style that actively incorporates period playing styles, especially in the repertoire up to the early Romantic period. This album is the beginning of a series of recordings of the complete symphonies of Beethoven and Shostakovich, "the composers and the conclusion of one of the fundamental elements of Western music," and is a coupling of the two symphonies of each composer. The enigmatic Shostakovich shows the keen eye of someone who was close to the composer, while the "Rural" sings of the exchange of nature, and the performance makes the most of the work's unique characteristics. Recorded on March 16 & 17 and August 27 & 28, 2015 at the Luke Society, Dresden, Germany.
