He was a member of the legendary group "Irakere" with Chucho Valdes and Arturo Sandoval, and was one of the first to select Michel Camilo, who had just arrived in the US from the Dominican Republic, to play in his own band. Paquito Delibera, a world-renowned saxophonist/clarinetist from Cuba who has been active internationally for more than half a century, has released another hot new album, this time on Paquito Records, an imprint affiliated with Sunnyside. This time, however, Paquito is not the sole leader of the group, but is a member of the "Barcelona Clarinet Players," a group of four reed players from Barcelona, Spain, and Paquito has joined the group.
