He was born in Seattle, Washington in 1942. He dropped out of high school and joined the Army Parachute Corps, but was discharged due to a broken bone. After that, he started his music career. In 1966, at the urging of Chas Chandler, bassist of The Animals, who had bought him out as a management agent, he went to England and formed The Experience. Later that year, they made their debut with the single "Hey Joe. In March 1967, they released their second single, "Purple Haze," and their popularity continued to soar. This album was released with much anticipation. The original version included songs 1 through 11, which were immeasurably impactful in terms of their heavy sound, psychedelic taste, wildness, sparkling beauty, and overwhelming guitar playing.The complete album includes additional tracks 12-17, which were released as single A/B sides at the time!
