This is the second album by the Belgian ensemble Taurus String Quartet, formed in 2012. The CD project entitled "Horizon funebre" contains string quartets by Schubert, who died in 1828, and Janacek, who died in 1928, exactly one century apart. The first volume (KTC 1604) features Janacek's "The Secret Letter" and Schubert's "Schubert No. 15," while this second volume couples Janacek's "Kreutzer Sonata No. 1" with Schubert's "Death and the Maiden" (No. 14), both masterpieces.
