The album includes "Living For The Ones," a rock number co-written with longtime guitarist George Marinelli and dedicated to recently deceased friends and family, and "Waitin' For You To Blow," about the demons lurking in the shadows of recovery, a song that is equal parts Mose Allison and The song "Waitin' For You To Blow" is a funky, ironic mix of Mose Allison, Eddie Harris, and 70's funk in equal measure. It's exciting to create something new from a feeling and style that runs deep within me," she says of the new songs on the album. Other songs on the album include "Down The Hall," which was inspired by a New York Times article she read a few years ago about a hospice program for prisoners, and "The Lost Souls," which was inspired by her own experiences with organ donation. The album includes two songs, "My Heart Was Just So Blown Open," which was inspired by a local news story about two families who were greatly affected by organ donation.
