Also note the splendid soloists! Re-Angeli Geneve, led by McLeod, presents J.S. Bach's third release, a collection of cantatas for bass! Re-Angéli Geneve was founded in 2005 by the talented bass singer Stéphane McLeod. The "Matthew Passion" (50-3012/13) and "Mass in B minor" (50-3014/15), recorded with a unique interpretation in which the placement of the vocal and instrumental forces, the number of players per part, and other factors are determined through the performance, have received high praise. The highly anticipated third J.S. Bach release is four cantatas for bass. McLeod himself conducts and sings solo bass! As of 2022, 17 years after its formation, the group is a renowned ancient music ensemble. As a variable ensemble performing with original instruments, they are particular about the acoustics of their performances, and in this session, microphones are placed around the members of each instrument and voice. This time, not only the soloists, but also all the members of the ensemble have been assembled! The violinist Eva Saladin is a young virtuoso who studied with Lucy van Dahl and others.He is a talented artist-in-residence at the Utrecht Festival of Ancient Music for the 2020/21 season. Emmanuelle Laporte is an oboe player who has earned the trust of Philippe Pierlot and other greats in the world of ancient music. In this performance, he plays with a rich nuance to McLeod's songs. And Bertrand Cuyet, harpsichordist, is a highly acclaimed keyboard player who has recorded with Rameau and François Couperin.
