Russian virtuoso Andrei Gavrylov, who shocked audiences everywhere with his visit to Japan in November 2020 in the midst of the new Corona disaster, received a great ovation! The new recording, the second release of the joint project between "Da Vinci Classic" and "Unzipped Classical Music" on Gavrylov's official website, is a collection of works by four composers centered around the piano sonatas of Liszt! In 1974, at the age of just 18, Liszt won the first prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition and enjoyed great success at the Salzburg Festival, but was subsequently persecuted by the KGB. However, he was persecuted by the KGB, and then, with the approval of then Communist Party Secretary General Gorbachev, he became the first artist in the former Soviet Union to be granted permission to leave the country without going into exile. Dramatic dunamiks with strong percussion and a delicate touch. The power is so tremendous that at times one fears the piano will break. His performances, in which extreme boldness and delicacy coexist, have always been controversial, but here is the "present" that Gavrylov has arrived at, after overcoming the days of suffering and a hiatus from performing that followed his worldwide success until the early 1990s, and after making a successful comeback.The second recording in this series, entitled "Music for the Living," focuses on the B minor Piano Sonata, one of Liszt's greatest masterpieces.
