Description:
Modern Folklore x Modern Minas! Pianist Juan Ignacio Sueiro, who leads La Plata's leading band Nadis, has released his first solo album as a singer and songwriter. In recent years, South American music in Japan has been particularly focused on Brazil's "modern minas," led by Antonio Loureiro and Jafael Martini, and Argentina's "modern folklore," led by Carlos Aguirre and the Aca Seca Trio. A new generation strongly influenced by both of these groups emerged from La Plata, Argentina, led by Cribas, led by Juan Fermin Ferraris, and among them was Nadis, which pursued its own musicality with an instrumental ensemble including orchestral instruments reminiscent of Jafael Martini. Juan Ignacio Sueiro, the pianist who leads Nadis, will release his first solo album as a singer and songwriter.Juan studied under such leading Argentine musicians as Mono Fontana, Guillermo Crain, and Federico Aresegol, but he was also strongly influenced by contemporary Brazilian minas such as Antonio Loureiro, Jafael Martini, Pedro Martins, and Frederico Eliodoro. He started his career as a drummer. Juan began his career as a drummer, started playing piano at the age of 17, played in jazz-based instrumental groups, and then made his debut as a singer/songwriter, a unique career that is in line with that of Antonio Loureiro, whom he admires. In this album, Juan himself plays almost all the instruments, including piano, drums, bass, and guitar, just like Loureiro, but he is joined by Mariano "Tiki" Cantero of the Aca Seca Trio, Juan Pablo Di Leone, Fernando Silva, and Ernesto Snajer, who are all greats around Carlos Aguirre, as well as the likes of Ernesto Snajer, who is a great singer and songwriter, The album also features guest appearances by leading Argentine jazz musicians such as Ernesto Snaher and Ramiro Flores, as well as string arrangements by Daniel Schnock, who produced and arranged Delfina Mancardo's debut album.Lucia Boffo and Joaquin Merino, who produced and arranged Juan's works, also participate as guest vocalists. This solo debut album is a masterpiece that sums up his activities after Nadis, while also providing a bird's-eye view of Argentine music in the 21st century and beyond.
