Ringstadt was born in 1993, and at the young age of 25 was selected as the principal player of the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra. Ringstadt's sensitivity and technique will draw you in with Kabalevsky's Concerto No. 2, which is influenced by Shostakovich but has its own unique charm, and Schumann's Concerto, composed in his later years, is a beautiful masterpiece with a melancholy sound. Theodor Ringstadt studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and the Manhattan School of Music, where he received numerous awards. In this recording, he plays the "Testore" cello owned by the Royal Danish Academy of Music.
