Description:

Christian Tetzlaff and Lars Forkt have previously performed as an intimate ensemble in works by Schumann, Beethoven, and Brahms. On this album, they perform three of Beethoven's Violin Sonatas No. 6 through No. 8. These three sonatas, dedicated to Tsar Alexander I of Russia, are often seen as overshadowed by the overwhelming popularity of No. 5 "Spring" and No. 9 "Kreutzer," but they were written between 1801 and 2002, during the transition from Beethoven's early to middle period, and are also important for tracing the transition of Beethoven's style. It is an important work for tracing the transition of Beethoven's style. In the original conception of No. 6, which is entirely gentle in mood, a tarantella was placed in the last movement, but it was converted to the last movement of No. 9 and replaced by the present variation, which is a well-balanced composition. The Seventh, written in C minor, which Beethoven loved and which has a severe atmosphere, expresses the ups and downs of emotions in a detailed manner, and the beautiful melody of the second movement is especially memorable. The eighth piece, which begins with a dynamic first movement, is characterized by a concise tunefulness that softens the harshness of the seventh, and the atmosphere of each piece is also contrasting. Tetzlaff carefully expresses the melodic beauty of these three pieces while highlighting their character, and Folkert captures Tetzlaff's thoughts in a powerful and brilliant performance. Please enjoy these tasteful performances. Naxos Japan
