This box set contains 4CDs of 100 original versions of Western music performed live and on albums by the Group Sounds, which caused a frenzy throughout Japan at the end of the 1960s! ＜One of the major characteristics of the Japanese beat groups called "Group Sounds (GS)" that caused a huge boom from 1967 to 1968 was that their performances at jazz cafes (similar to today's live houses) and other venues were often accompanied by Western cover versions of their songs. One of the major characteristics of the Japanese beat groups called "GS" is that their performances at jazz cafes (like today's live houses) and other venues consisted mainly of Western music covers. This is because the first generation of GS bands that debuted in 1965-6, such as the Spiders, the Blue Comets, and the Wild Ones, had members who were also songwriters within the band (the first generation of GS bands), but the majority of their recordings were based on original songs provided by outside professional writers, as was the case in 1967 and later. The same was true of the debutant group (the second generation of GS), which mostly recorded original songs provided by outside professional writers.
