The album is a work that pursues "relaxation" by incorporating elements of city pop, jazz fusion, and electronica! Shoko Igarashi, a native of Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture, a graduate of Berklee College of Music, and a highly acclaimed tenor saxophonist, will release her first album in two years, "Onsen Music" on the Paris-based label Tigersushi Records. This album by the Belgian-based Japanese artist, whose previous album "Simple Sentences" was highly acclaimed by Pitchfork, incorporates elements of Japanese city pop, 70's jazz fusion, and electronica. Each song takes the listener on a relaxing journey, like a relaxing soak in the steam of a traditional Japanese hot spring. The variety of songs imitate a wide variety of hot springs, some salty and hot, some smooth and clear, some bubbling and colorful, and some refreshing soaks in limpid water.In each case, it is as pleasant and delightfully satisfying as the music itself. This paean to "relaxation" is filled with good vibes that resonate directly with the mind, melodies, hooks, superb saxophone work, intricate electronic music, vocals that make you dream of new worlds, and beats that make you want to dance all night long, while maintaining an appeal that makes you want to start dancing involuntarily. The title of A1. "EN", which is being distributed in advance, is Japanese and comes from the Sanskrit word "prataya" in Buddhist philosophy, meaning indirect cause related to inevitability and destiny The music video is also available, so please check it out.
