Schumann, Robert (1810-1856)
Description:
Irresistibly romantic. Schumann & Liszt with Geyerl's sensitive tone. Geyerl warmly brings out the charm of the works with his natural touch, with his irresistibly sensitive tone and musicality that perfectly accompanies the listener's emotions. Here comes the masterpiece Schumann! The intimacy of Bach's Suite for Unaccompanied Cello, which is so natural that you feel as if he were playing it just for you in front of you, is not lost in the concerto and chamber music. In the concertos and chamber music, the intimacy is not lost at all. Rather, it is filled with a mysterious affection that seems to envelop you and the orchestra and piano together. In the Schumann Concerto, Geyerl's music is full of a mysterious charm that draws you in with the depth of his tone, even in the forte section, where the bow pressure is natural to the utmost. The warm dialogue with the orchestra and the melody in the second movement simply draws you in.Even in the finale of the third movement, which requires a certain technique, the gorgeous passages with a tone texture that seems to absorb the listener's ear are full of colors that only she can play. The Romanian National Radio Orchestra, led by conductor Soare, who also conducts a number of operas, provides excellent support for Gaillard's performance of Schumann, which is rich in shading and lyricism. Each member of the orchestra played the melody as if they were standing by Gaillard, creating a wonderful sense of unity. The next work by Liszt was also performed by Delphine Bardin, a highly acclaimed partner for works by Fauré and others, and Gaillard's performance was full of song and enchantment. In particular, the deep, lamenting bass in the elegy is so beautiful that it even brings tears to one's eyes. This is a piece of bliss that envelops you in Gaillard's enchanting tones.
