Trio Wanderer

Description:

Trio Vandaler's definitive masterpiece Beethoven's complete piano trios + Triple Concerto with the Cologne Gürzenich Orchestra Beethoven, who could not have asked for a better performance. This is the reissue of the complete piano trios recorded by the famous trio Trio Vandaler around the time of their 25th anniversary [original: HMC-902100 (domestic version KKC-5635, specially selected by Record Geijutsu), both out of press]. First and foremost, Vincent Cocq's piano touch (especially in the early works) shines through. The piano part is so full and full that it makes one realize that Beethoven himself was a great pianist. The violins and cellos are perfectly integrated with the enchanting melodies and interplay between them. The players' skills are of an equally high level, and the musical direction is the same, making this ensemble something that is hard to find elsewhere. And the Triple Concerto was previously available on LDC 2781142 (released in 2001) and HMG 502131 (the coupling "Music for Egmont" is not included in this box). This is a masterpiece that focuses on the superb dialogue between the trio Vandallers, which is captivating in the Trio Concerto. The orchestra is the prestigious Cologne Gürzenich Orchestra. At the end of the 18th century, the piano trio was considered to be an extension of the piano sonata, with the violin or cello playing the role of a complement or accent to the piano. It was a lighter genre than the string quartet, consisting of three movements, the last of which was usually a light, elegant rondo. Beethoven put an end to this practice in 1795 with the Piano Trio op. 1. By writing it in four movements, like the string quartet, with the last movement in sonata form, Beethoven gave the music deep drama and symphonic grandeur. Since he composed this work on the assumption that he would be invited to the stage as a pianist, the piano part is particularly well-developed in op. 1.Beginning with the ambitious young Beethoven's op. 1, and continuing with op. 70, which was composed during his productive period (around 1810) when he wrote Symphonies Nos. 3, 5, and 6, the piano trios that Beethoven composed from time to time are all remarkably rich, and each part of each work is remarkable in its own right. All are in the customary three movements, some with a rondo as the last movement, and all are filled with Beethoven's ambition, passion, talent, and ingenuity. The Trio Vandaler's superb performance of the complete piano trio is an extravagant set that can be enjoyed to one's heart's content. Trio Vandaler was formed in 1987 by three graduates of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, and since recording at the Harmonie Mundi in 1999, all of their CDs have been extremely well received, especially their Mendelssohn trio collection (HMC 901961). In particular, the Mendelssohn Trio Collection (HMC 901961) was introduced as a definitive recording by The New York Times. The members of the ensemble are highly skilled in a wide range of repertoire, from classical and romantic to contemporary, and the ensemble's breathtakingly telepathic playing has always fascinated us with its extremely high quality.
