Here comes the '23 album from the North American symphonic rock band formed in '00 by Mick Peters (stick/b/g/acoustic-g/vo) and Ted Thomas (dr/per/vo)! It has been four years since their last album "Our Own Sad Fate", which was their first revival in about 15 years. While the previous album consisted of relatively compact songs, this album includes three large songs over 10 minutes long, including the last song, "Count All the Days," which is a testament to the band's current level of creativity and condition. The influence of British prog rock of the past, such as Genesis and Yes, can be heard in the inclusion of vintage instruments such as organ and mellotron, while the band's stylish symphonic rock style with its inflected melodies, which is shared with Metaphor and others, is also present in this album. The twisted rhythmic approach of GENTLE GIANT is accentuated in 'Alternate Life', and the combination of the stretched guitar and melancholic vocals in 'Warmth and Darkness' has a slightly Eastern European feel. The sound is more varied than ever, reflecting the musical tastes and techniques of each member.The song structure/arrangement and all other aspects of the album have been enhanced in every way, including dramatic scene changes from acoustic verses to edgy HR/HM-inspired climaxes.
