The overwhelming aesthetic that the legendary 4AD label has upheld for over 40 years. A strictly limited-edition, 2-disc compilation, carefully curated by the label and Tower Records staff, is now available on vinyl!! Founded in 1980 as a sister label to Beggars Banquet Records, the legendary 4AD has continued to lead the global indie scene throughout its 40-year history, launching acts that have defined each era. Starting with goth, post-punk, and shoegaze, this collaborative project features tracks carefully selected by the label and Tower Records staff from a vast archive that has accumulated a wide variety of musical styles and sounds over the years. This release includes a total of 23 tracks, featuring representative songs from each decade, rare recordings, and tracks making their CD debut. The liner notes are written by Shunichi Otaka, the curator of the legendary compilation *Nature Mortes Lives: Dance of Darkness*, released exclusively in Japan in 1982. This is a strictly limited-edition release available exclusively at Tower Records in Japan. The profound sense of “learning from the past to innovate for the future” and the consistent aesthetic that emerge from this collection once again prove just how special the 4AD label is.
