Description:
The sound is a blend of traditional folk and English rock, and the melancholy melodies bring a warm breeze to the world that transcends time... Three solo albums by one of Scotland's finest songwriter/musicians, Jerry Rafferty, are now available in half-speed mastered analog format! This is "SNAKES AND LADDERS", an album released in 1980 featuring songs recorded at George Martin's AIR Studios and remakes of songs from the Stiller's Wheel era! He began his career in the late 60's as a folk duo called the Humble Bums with Billy Connolly (a beloved British comedian/actor/musician), later as a member of the rock band Steeler's Wheel, which produced the classic number "Stuck In The Middle With You," and as a solo artist, who has had many hit songs. Gerry Rafferty is one of Scotland's finest songwriters and musicians, with a long list of hits to his credit. His hit song, "Foggy Baker Street," and his sound, a perfect blend of traditional folk, rock, and blues, and his melancholy melody lines have captivated music fans around the world, and he has made his mark on music history. Now, three of his classic albums released between 1978 and 1980 are being reissued in analog format, mastered at half speed by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios. By cutting the master recordings while playing them back at half speed, it is possible to control high-frequency bands and other aspects of the recordings to create the ideal sound for the analog recordings.
