This is the third album for Sony Music by Daniel Taylor, a countertenor singer who has won acclaim not only at classical music concerts but also at opera houses around the world. The first two albums were released on RCA Red Seal, and this time it is on Sony Classical. Born in Canada in 1969, he is one of the most talented and popular countertenors today. He studied philosophy and music at the Université de Montréal, Université de Marguerite and postgraduate studies, and was accepted by Michael Chance to study in England, where he made a sensational debut in Handel's opera "Theodora" (directed by Peter Sellers) at the 1997 Glyndebourne Festival. She appeared in Jonathan Miller's recording of Handel's opera Rodelinda. She has appeared in Handel and Monteverdi operas to critical acclaim.His wide repertoire includes not only opera but also contemporary music, with Bernstein's works and Ryuichi Sakamoto's "Life" (with the Dalai Lama and Carreras) being worthy of special mention. More recently, he has appeared in many Bach cantatas and has participated in many appearances and recordings in Gardiner and Herreweghe's Bach Cantata Series. She has also appeared in concerts and recordings (Volume 25) of Masaaki Suzuki's Cantata Passion series, where she has received high praise for her natural voice and intelligent singing. This album features works related to Christmas, selected from a wide range of periods, from 15th century carols to contemporary Tavener, and sung with a deep voice that pays homage to his musicality and will make you feel the holy night of Christmas.
