Description:

2011 Tchaikovsky Competition champion Zolman releases a collection of works for violin by his native Israeli composer Paul Ben-Haim! It's been a long time since the last album by the talented violinist Itamar Zolman was released! Born in Tel Aviv, Israel in 1985, Zolman studied under Christian Tetzlaff, and in 2011, won the highest prize (2nd prize without first prize) in the violin section at the 14th International Tchaikovsky Competition. She is now a world-famous violinist. He is also known for his debut album (PH14039) on the German Profil label, a collection of masterpieces from Germany and France. Paul Ben-Haim studied piano, composition, and conducting at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts for five years from 1915, and later served as assistant conductor under Bruno Walter and Hans Knappertsbusch. With the beginning of Nazi rule in 1933, he left Germany and moved to Tel Aviv, where he changed his name to the Hebrew Ben-Haim. His style tended toward late Romanticism, and he also absorbed Israeli influences, for which he received the Israel Prize in 1957. The works here range from the 1940s to his later years in the 1980s, and in addition to his masterpiece, the Violin Concerto, there are three exercises dedicated to Yehudi Menuhin. Although conservative in form and style, the works offer a unique opportunity to enjoy Ben-Haim's distinctive style of distinctive rhythms and fluctuating tonalities. King International
