A New “Four Seasons” Following Vivaldi and Piazzolla! While Vivaldi and Piazzolla are best known for their works depicting the four seasons—primarily featuring a solo violin—François Dompierre’s new composition has emerged within that tradition. Unlike his predecessors, who depicted Italy and Buenos Aires, Dompierre has crafted four movements—"Rigodón of Spring," "Melancholy of Summer," "Waltz and Contredanse of Autumn," and "Cadril of Winter"—based on his native Quebec, Canada. While the work is rich in local color, incorporating regional customs and traditions, it also pays homage to the great masters of the past: famous phrases from Vivaldi’s works of the same name appear in “Spring” and “Winter,” and the piece concludes with a vibrant, South American-inspired finale. Born in 1943, Donpierre is a composer who won the Canadian Félix Award in 2025 for his *Requiem* and is also active in film music. Isabella Delouais-Perron is a young Canadian prodigy who has garnered attention not only for her skills on the violin and viola but also for her talents as a pianist and singer. Tokyo M-Plus
