Michel Legrand broke down the boundaries between jazz, symphonic music, musical comedy, and popular music. A music legend and three-time Academy Award winner, Legrand was prolific over the decades on subjects that remain in people's memories. This new anthology, entitled "Hier et demain" (Yesterday and Tomorrow), tells the story of his destiny and even creates its future, and the CD includes works by Thomas Dutron, Joe Hisaishi, Nathalie Dessay, Clara Luciani, Juliette Armanet, Philippe Catherine, Morane The CD includes contemporary remakes and new readings of Legrand's works, including previously unreleased pieces by Masha Merrill, Jasmine Roy & Al Jarreau, Camille Berteau, Benjamin Legrand, etc. An LP containing only the 13 tracks on the CD has also been released.
