It is a love letter to life, a work of poetry, voice, and guitar that weaves a picture of a heart that wavers between light and shadow, serenity and exuberance. The album features the best jazz guitarist in Africa, Lionel Ruheke, the vocalist Nobie, who has been praised by Toninho Horta, the greatest Brazilian musician, and Takaki Baba, a sought-after "first-call guitarist" in the Japanese jazz world. The two have collaborated on one song together on "Benin - Rio - Tokyo," which showcases Nobie's natural sense of rhythm and extraordinary expressiveness in singing, and Baba's guitar, which has great depth and space, is a perfect match for the two. Seven of the 11 songs on this album are original compositions by the two artists, all with lyrics in Japanese, and the album opens with "Introduction," a multiple vocal recording by Nobie, followed by the title track "Owari to Hajimari," a lighthearted song of deep love, and Gonzaguinha's cover songs "E" and "Feliz. The album runs through various worldviews with a straight line from the title track, "Introduction," which was recorded locally, to the title track, "End and Beginning," a lighthearted song of deep love, and "E" and "Feliz," a cover of Gonzaguinha, with lyrics translated by Nobuhiro Fukushima, an up-and-coming Brazilian literature scholar.This is an album that many adults who love music should listen to.
