KOKETSU Yuki Masayo, the one and only "Queen of Indie", has been shining on the music scene as a unique presence. Her last leader album "Band of Eden" was recorded live at Shinjuku PitInn, a sacred place for jazz, and her latest album "Nyoinbo - Zenbu, Shooting Star no Sei" was recorded at King Sekiguchidai Studio, one of the most famous studios in Japan, and is even more atmospheric than the previous album. The result is a supernova, an explosion of the emotions of the four members. This is the long-awaited release from Somethin' Cool, a jazz label that introduces up-and-coming Japanese musicians one after another. This album is a live recording of the first meeting between Yuichi Ushioda (guitar), Kosuke Ochiai (bass, Matouqin), and Ryotaro Miyasaka (percussion), who are extremely busy day and night, without any rehearsal at all.The program includes two jazz standards, "St. Louis Blues" and "Lonely Woman," six KOKETSU originals, and two group improvisations. This is "alterna-jazz," the "jazz beyond jazz" of Nyoinbo.
