Description:
Pianist Marco Mezquida, born in Menorca in 1987, is a jazz pianist who has attracted a great deal of attention in his native Spain, as he has been repeatedly selected by the Catalan Music Institute as "Musician of the Year/Modern Jazz". He has been selected several times as "Musician of the Year/Modern Jazz" by the Catalan Music Institute, and is a very popular presence in his native Spain. The sidemen are also interesting. The cello is played by Martín Meléndez, a unique cellist with a natural sense of rhythm and a classical sound, who grew up in Moscow with Cuban parents. On drums and percussion is Aleix Tobias, who leads the group "Chalupa," which modernizes Catalan folk songs, and the "Iberian Percussion Orchestra. The melancholy rhythms and melodies, and the nostalgic yet fresh sound of this piano trio will capture the hearts of listeners at first listen, and will surely be loved by jazz fans in Japan.
