Description:

Alexander Tchaikovsky is the nephew of the 20th century Russian composer Boris Tchaikovsky. He is one of the most respected composers in contemporary Russia, and the late Mariss Jansons is known to have loved his works and featured them in his concert repertoire. He usually writes works for large orchestras, but his new work "Symphony No. 7" in 2020 is, as the title "Symphony in Isolation" suggests, a symphonic work that is intended to "help each member maintain social distance" during the outbreak of the coronavirus (Covid-19) and to "help the orchestra to be socially isolated from the rest of the world" (Covid-19). The work is a small piece with two meanings: "so that each member can maintain social distance" and "an orchestra that has been socially isolated". Dmitry Vasilyev, born in 1972, has been the Principal Conductor of the Siberian Symphony Orchestra since 2005. Naxos Japan
