A collection of small pieces by the young ensemble "Prisma," including 17th century Italian sonatas, tarantellas, and ciacconas, as well as original works by the members and even the chanson "Kareha" ("Withering Leaves"). The members of the group, including recorders, violins, viola da gamba, and lutes, play in trio (two treble voices and bass clef), quartet, and solo, and the compositions are varied to give a very attractive performance. At the beginning of each season, there is a solo piece composed or arranged by each member for each instrument. Many of the pieces are not well-known at first glance, but they are all familiar and beautiful, such as the sonata "What a long time, not at all" by Turini, which is also known for the lovely duet between the two daughters of Santo Colombes in the movie "The Morning We Met" (actually sung by Figueras and Kiel, who imitated their young voices). The two daughters of Sainte-Colombe sang a lovely duet in the film "The Morning of the Meeting". The sensibility of a new generation breathes new life into music that transcends 400 years, making this an enjoyable yet thrilling album. Naxos Japan
