Chicago-based singer-songwriter and producer GiaMargaret’s 2018 debut album, *There’s Always Glimmer*, served as both her starting point and a pivotal work that shaped her subsequent career. The album features 12 tracks and runs approximately 34 minutes. Handling all songwriting, composition, performance, and production herself, and primarily recorded and mixed in collaboration with Nicholas Papaleo, this album became an exceptionally beautiful debut that blends quiet intimacy with a delicate sense of sound. Regarding this album, Pitchfork described her music as having a lullaby-like atmosphere dubbed “sleeprock,” introducing it as a work where folk serves as the foundation, blending with ambient and shoegaze textures and subtle electronic embellishments. The FADER also positions *There’s Always Glimmer* as a “bittersweet collection of folk songs” with electronic tremors seeping into its contours. The acoustic warmth and the hazy, dreamlike sound—the fact that both coexist so naturally is the album’s greatest charm. "Groceries," the album’s opening track, succinctly captures this worldview.
