Description:

Japanese songs played by countertenor, recorder, and piano! As Japan accepted Western music and changed to suit its climate and lifestyle, Japanese "songs" also became mainstream, combining elements of Western and Japanese music, and many works were created with enhanced artistry, richness of nature, and deep emotion. Aoki's gentle and soft voice, Takahashi's crisp recorder, and Matsumoto's cool piano bring back to life the nostalgic yet fresh atmosphere of Japanese "songs" sung in those days. <Aoki studied ancient music performance at the graduate school of Tokyo University of the Arts and religious musicology at the graduate school of Elisabeth University of Music, and has regularly traveled to Europe for further study. Specializing in religious music, she sang solo in J.S. Bach's "Matthew" and "John" Passions as well as numerous cantatas. He has participated in performances and recordings in Japan and abroad as a principal member of the Bach Collegium Japan. He has released eight solo CDs, including "Dear Saxons: Works of Hasse Handel", all of which were selected for the "Record Geijutsu" Special Recording Award. All of them have been selected as "Record Geijutsu" Special Selections, "Ongaku Gendai" Special Selections, and so on.He has also received high acclaim for his soft and florid singing, which was compared to the famous singer Alfred Deller in the Asahi Shimbun's "for your Collection" article. In recent years, he has also been active as a choral conductor, leading 14 amateur choral groups. He is the representative of "PURCELL PROJECT. He is a lecturer at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music. He is the head of church music and choir director at Seigaoka Church of Christ Convention of Japan. Conductor of the choir at Aoyama Gakuin University. (1/2) Tobu Shoji Co.
