Her debut album, Bauhaus, L'Appartamento, produced by Ewan Hinshelwood (Young Husband), was released on Wichita Recordings. Bauhaus, L'Appartamento is the debut album by Italian-born, Manchester-based singer/songwriter/guitarist Julia Bardo. Produced and mixed by Euan Hinshelwood of Younghusband, the album firmly establishes Bardo's musical adventurousness and talent. This is an album about loneliness, isolation, and separation. But there is also unconditional love. Family, emotional dependency, mental health issues, feelings of emptiness and numbness, feelings of inadequacy, emotional dysregulation, self-doubt, introspection, past trauma and coping with it..." she summarizes the album, revealing its overarching theme.The title is named after the apartment complex where she lived when she was working on the demo for the album, but with an Italian twist. She began her musical career in Brescia, northern Italy. There, in between shifts at her father's bar, she began writing lyrics and singing for a local band. Later, she moved to Manchester and went solo. After developing her own style as a musician, she joined the post-punk band Working Men's Club. However, he never lost his strong desire to take creative control of his music and became a solo artist again.
