Description:
Elena Margolina, who studied piano at the St. Petersburg Conservatory and the Detmold Conservatory, is a pianist who won first prize at the 5th International Schubert Piano Competition in Dortmund in 1995. She is well known for her performance and interpretation of Russian music, including Tchaikovsky in this year's competition, and since 2014 she has been training younger students as a professor of piano at the Detmold College of Music, her alma mater.
