PARADOX, who garnered attention as a leading figure of the "Second Wave of German Thrash," will have their 1987 debut album reissued by HIGHROLLER in October 2025, remastered and restored by Patrick W. Engel at Temple of Disharmony. It is known as one of the most polished albums to emerge from the rapidly growing European thrash scene of the time. While heavily influenced by American thrash of the era, the album is characterized by the hard-hitting, high-speed riffing unique to German thrash. On the title track “Product of Imagination” and “Death, Screaming and Pain,” high-speed thrash centered on razor-sharp riffs unfolds, with melodic phrases from the twin guitars and a tense rhythm section powerfully driving the songs forward. On the other hand, tracks like “Mystery” and “Beyond Space” incorporate dramatic developments and lyrical melodies, demonstrating a high level of compositional skill that goes beyond mere speed.
