Soft Cell is an artist/synth-pop duo that began their career in the early 1980s. Consisting of frontman Marc Almond and producer/instrumentalist Dave Ball, Soft Cell released four albums between 1981 and 1984, all of which reached the UK Top 20 and produced 12 Top 40 songs. They were very popular, but broke up in 1984.They later resurrected in 2001 and are now releasing their fifth and latest album "*HAPPINESS NOT INCLUDED", their first album in almost 20 years since their last album "CRUELTY WITHOUT BEAUTY" released in 2002! Prior to the album information, they released a new song "Heart Like Chernobyl" in August and another new song "bruises on My Illusion" in October along with the album information. Their latest album, *HAPPINESS NOT INCLUDED*, was crafted in the studio during a global lockdown, and contains 12 songs, including these two, that strike a unique and striking balance between light and shadow, hope and despair, and the personal and the universal, all of which are encapsulated in a sound that is both personal and universal. It is an album that encapsulates the characteristics that first attracted Soft Cell fans to the band, and does so with a unique and striking balance of sound that is both uplifting and darkly Mark's.
