A collaboration between Randy Brecker and the NDR Big Band, who have been active together for over half a century. This is a remarkable work featuring music related to the Brecker Brothers. Also featuring his friend David Sanborn. Randy Brecker, one of the best trumpeters in the field of crossover music, and the German NDR Big Band perform together on this album. Randy was born in 1945 and moved from Philadelphia to New York in 1966. After playing with the Thad Jones-Mel Lewis Big Band and many other big bands, he formed the Brecker Brothers with his brother Michael Brecker in 1974. Forty years have already passed since their formation (as of 2018), but the music they pioneered has never faded and will forever be immortalized. This groundbreaking project features big band arrangements of Randy Brecker's music, with a focus on numbers related to the Brecker Brothers. The project also features the participation of his friend David Sanborn, drummer Wolfgang Haffner, who was born in Germany and is active in both crossover and traditional styles, and saxophonist Ada Lovatti, who has supported Randy both in his personal and professional life. ＜＜The groove is 100% Brecker Brothers! ＞＞The opening theme of the Brecker Brothers' concert, with its 100% groove, swirling brass and solos, is used as the opening theme of the album.Randy's poetic sense as a trumpet player will be expressed with "Sozinho" from "Return of Brecker Brothers," the reunion album that took the world by surprise in 1992, and numbers such as "Pstoral," dedicated to Jaco Pastorius, will also be featured. The program also highlights Randy's sensitive sense as a jazz trumpet player. The ensemble, arranged by Jorg Achim Keller from Zurich, and the solos by the NDR Big Band, which is the permanent band of the broadcasting station, are also noteworthy.
