A collection of works that open up the possibilities of stringed instruments written for Ensemble Resonanz, including Tabea Zimmermann's exquisite solos! A collection of string works written for the Ensemble Resonanz. This remarkable disc also features the participation of viola virtuoso Tabea Zimmermann. All of the works are world premiere recordings. Composer Enno Poppe saw unlimited possibilities in stringed instruments, which can change pitch, technique, and sound quality, and sought a way to fully demonstrate their expressive potential. Wald" for four string quartets has been in the ensemble's repertoire for many years. The fractal development of the sound is like a peek into the composer's thought process. Filz," which takes the form of a viola concerto, is inspired by traditional Korean music, with subtle intonations that change in an unstable atmosphere, expressed in a soloist's melody composed in 1/3-tone intervals.Stoff" was originally composed in 2015 for the Ensemble Musikfabrik with strings, woodwinds, and brass (on WER-7395), but the version on this disc is the 2018 version rewritten for string orchestra. The homogeneous acoustics conversely give the music eloquence. King International.
