Johann Sigismund Kusser (1660-1727) was a musician who studied the French style under Lully during his six years in Paris and Versailles, and later served as music director at various German opera houses and courts before moving to England to work in Dublin, Ireland. Kusser's music, which utilizes compositional techniques directly inherited from Lully, such as his "Overtures in the French Style," is known to have influenced the next generation of Telemann, Graupner, Handel, and others.
