CODE ORANGE, a heretic in current heavy music born in Pittsburgh, releases its 2023 album on BLUE GRAPE MUSIC. The album is the first release in three years since their last album, "Underneath," and features the most variety ever, incorporating elements of grunge, trip-hop, and hip-hop in addition to traditional CODE ORANGE. "Shade" Balderose and recorded by Steve Albini. The third track "Take Shape," for which a music video was released earlier, features Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins. Jami Morgan said of the album, "I wanted it to be an album that envelops the listener with melody, aggression, and joy." I wanted it to be rooted in the "analog" world, but still feel like a thread of digital reality tying things together." He said.Although the music and visuals have changed considerably since the "Kids" days, the power of the band has not diminished.
