In the tradition of the extraordinary Brazilian musicians who sought inspiration in the music of this German master, Fernandes performs works by Bach (his favorite composer) along with works by the great Brazilian composers Villa-Lobos, Paulinho Nogueira, and Mario Albanese. and Mario Albanese, along with works by some of Brazil's greatest composers. In addition, renowned Brazilian guitarist and composer Sergio Assad has composed for this album four of his latest solo guitar arrangements and a new three-movement work, Preludes, Fugues and Vivace.Bringing the Bach-Brazilian idea full circle and back to its roots, this world premiere recording is Brazil's danceable answer to Bach's Prelude, Fugue and Allegro in E-flat major, BWV 998, and a fugue debut for Assado. Equal parts homage and innovation, Bacheando is a captivating journey across bridges of sound as artists across styles, regions, and eras engage in dialogue with each other. Plinio Fernandes is the recipient of the 2023 "Brazilian Music Award" and was named a Forbes 30 Under 30 Brazil and a Classic FM Rising Star in 2022. He also received the 2022 "Revista Concerto Young Artist Award". Fernandes was born in São Paulo, Brazil and currently lives in London.
