Description:

<The 50th anniversary of Helmut Koch's death. The wonderfully flowing "Music on the Water" and the magnificent "Fireworks at the Royal Palace" at an extremely slow tempo. For the first time since the CD release, the order of the recording of "Music on the Water" has been reissued in the same order as the original LP! This is the 38th release of the SACD hybridization project. The world's first SACD hybrid release of the master conductor Helmut Koch (1908-1975), known worldwide for his tasteful conducting of chamber orchestras and choirs. Koch was born on April 5, 1908, exactly the same day as Karajan in Barmen (now Wuppertal), Germany, and began playing the violin at age 12. Before the war, he conducted choirs and also worked as a recording engineer for broadcasting stations and record companies. After the war, he was asked by the Berlin Radio in the East to organize choral groups, and in 1948 he founded the small Berlin Radio Soloist Society and the large Berlin Radio Choir. In 1945, he founded the Berlin Chamber Orchestra from members of the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra. The Berlin Chamber Orchestra, which Koch called "Liebe Kinder" (beloved children), was nurtured and nurtured by Koch until his death, and is still active today as one of the world's leading chamber orchestras. Koch, who placed Bach and Handel at the center of his repertoire, performed and recorded oratorios, cantatas, and concertos with the choir and chamber orchestra he founded, earning him the nickname "King of Choral Music" and respect in East Germany. His recordings were also released abroad and were highly acclaimed, winning the Grand Prix du Disque de France twice. Koch's recordings were released in Japan from around 1970, and his popularity grew, and his first visit to Japan was scheduled for the end of 1974, but it was cancelled due to his illness. The "Music on the Water" was highly praised by Mr. Koch (1908-75), the East German master, in his monthly review. (Record Geijutsu, June 1975 issue, recommended by Mr. Uno). Koch was neither academic nor innovative, but one beautiful piece of music. The "Fireworks at the Royal Palace" was recorded in Koch's final years, and from the beginning, the extremely slow tempo is magnificent, and after the main part, the clear and clear sound of the brass, the elasticity of the rhythm, and the good flow of the music are also full of charm.
