Super Sonic Jazz" is a new label established by members of the famous Dutch club jazz label "Kindred Spirits", and their first release is a tribute to Jeff Gilson by France's best jazz players! The debut album by this hot project, which can be called the French version of Bild en Arc of the 10's, is a modern update of the unique spiritual and cosmic sound world that fascinated diggers all over the world, including Jazzman and Giles Peterson. The debut album by this hot project, the French version of Bild en Arc of the 10s! The new project "Palm Unit" brings together some of France's leading musicians: Philippe Garcia (drums) of Eric Traffaz Quartet, Lionel Martin (sax) of Eucandants, and Fred Escoffier (keyboards) of Le Sacre du Temps. A tribute project to French jazz great Jeff Gilson.(Jeff Gilson is a French pianist and composer who was very popular in the club/rare groove scene with his reissues on Kindred Spirits~Jazzman, and with the support of Giles Peterson, Four Tet, and other important figures in various fields. He passed away in 2012). All the songs on the album are Gilson's repertoire, including "Chant Inca," which was selected as one of Jazzman's best, "Mother Africa" with Hal Singer, and "Valiha Del" from the Four Tet's "LateNightTales", The songs on the album are all Gilson's repertoire, a parade of masterpieces that are hard to rank among the best. The cover of Pharaoh Sanders' club classic "Creator Has a Master Plan" (also picked by Gilson for his 1971 album "Malagasy") is also too good to be true! The project name "Palm" is a reference to the name of the independent label that Gilson started in order to release his own works.Super Sonic Jazz" is, of course, the Sun Ra Arkestra album! This is the French answer to the Build-en-Arc project of the decade, and a must-see project for all music fans, jazz and club music alike! PALM UNIT are Lionel Martin (saxophone): Member of the up-and-coming band Eucandants, who have been likened to the "Ethiopian Fishbone". Fred Escoffier (keyboards): A member of Fred Palem & Le Sacre du Temps, which gained attention with its debut on Tahiti 80 and Mellow's Atmosphelique label. Philippe Garcia (drums):Member of Eric Trafaz's quartet, well known for his releases on Blue Note.
