Bach played by Leonhardt's granddisciple. Six Partitas" on a Tuscan replica! Francesca Lanfranco, who plays Bach's "6 Partitas" on a replica of Pascal Tascan's circa 1750 harpsichord made by G. Corazza of Italy in 2012, studied harpsichord with Leonhardt's pupil, the virtuoso Christiane Giacotte, at the Geneva Conservatory. She studied harpsichord with the virtuoso Cristiane Giacotte, a pupil of Leonhardt, at the Conservatory of Music in Geneva, where she was awarded first prize, and at the Chigiana Conservatory in Siena, Italy, where she was taught by world-class masters such as Bob van Asperen and Kenneth Gilbert, a renowned female virtuoso born in Torino in 1958. Now 62 years old, Lanfranco tackles a recording of the "Six Partitas" that has long been very well known, studied, and performed, paying up-to-date attention to historical conventions while skillfully combining her own style, touch, and instrumental sound to create a unique performance that highlights new discoveries and interpretations of this work.
