A Simultaneous Nativity Play - Christmas by Dada" is the result of a collaboration between Swedish composer Per Aarofsson and Fredrik Malmberg, who has been the principal conductor of the Erik Ericsson Chamber Choir since 2012. The concept is based on the artistic movement "Dada" (Dadaism), which was founded in the 1910s by the German exiled playwright and actor Hugo Bal and others, based in the Swiss cabaret Voltaire. It was created as a unique "nativity play" that effectively uses beautiful sound effects and a method in which "meaninglessness" and "explanation of the situation" occur simultaneously. It consists of 10 chapters: "Introduction (Vorwort)," "Sinfonia," "Silent Night," "Stable," "Appearance of an Angel," "Annunciation," "Three Doctors of the East," "Arrival at the Stable," "Prophecy," "Sinfonia," and "Introduction. The three main actors, the Narrator, Mary, and Joseph, speak and sing the text of "The Bible," and the chorus of "Vocal Harmonin" portrays the world directed by the Balinese script with their "voices. The tuba and strings of "Chamber Ensemble N," which made albums such as "Keep the Change" (Phono Suecia PSCD120), play in their usual and experimental ways. Theorbo by Eunas Nudberg, percussion by Niklas Brommale, and tapes of electronic music created by composer Aarofsson expand the palette of sound.English, Hebrew, German, and other multilingual texts are included in the booklet, along with English translations.
