The Suite for Sampled Sound and Orchestra by Heiner Goebbels (b.1952), a German composer active in many fields including theater and film music, is one of the representative works from the album of Goebbels' imaginary cityscapes "Surrogate Cities". Various fragments, quotations, and sound sources, including baroque music, Jewish prayers, and the sounds of industry, are effectively assembled to reveal Goebbels' avant-garde cities. An orchestral work by Frank Zappa, a rock superstar and a man who has created fans across all musical boundaries.The music of Zappa, including "The Perfect Stranger," which was famously conducted by Pierre Boulez, will be conducted by Tomas Senagård (Sendegård), former principal conductor of the Norwegian Radio Orchestra (now principal conductor of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales).
