KAINOS, a Christian rock/melodic/symphonic rock band from the Norwegian city of Molde, formed under the influence of Sweden's representative Christian rock band JERUSALEM, sees their 1978 debut album released on CD for the first time in 2025 by Norway's Norske Albumklassikere! While the elegant, Camel-flavored melodic rock style reminiscent of fellow Molde bands Kerrs Pink and Sage Malone—which would fully blossom on their follow-up album TOLVTE TIME—remains restrained on this work, it instead features a collection of relatively simple, pop-rock/ballad-style tracks that also connect to the New Wave movement of the time.That said, his innate romanticism and catchy melodic sense are already fully realized in this work. Sentimental piano-driven ballads like "Jeg Tror At Jesus Kommer Igjen," featuring a female vocalist taking the lead, and "I To Foldede Hender," where softly layered string arrangements lend the song depth, are truly moving. While lacking the flashiness preferred by prog fans, this masterpiece instead highlights the sheer quality of its melodies. It's a slow-burner that seeps into your heart the more you listen, like a dried squid snack! The master uses a newly remastered source based on the original LP, handled by engineer Giert Claussen, who works on all releases for this label. 【Remastered Edition】
