A Christmas album of prayers for peace by the heavenly singing Uranienborg Vocal Ensemble! The Uranienborg Vocal Ensemble, conducted by Elisabet Holte, is one of the choirs active at the Uranienborg Church in Oslo. The new album is themed "Christmas". The theme of the new album is "Christmas. The theme of the new album is "Christmas," a time of light, hope, and warmth for many people. However, the world around us is cold and greatly disturbed. Wars are raging, people are being driven from their homes, and children are dying every day. The lack of food and medicine is great, and thousands of people are suffering. Our prayer is for peace. Our prayer is for peace: "Loud is the world! Glory to the Kingdom of God! This song is our prayer for peace and justice. We sing this song for peace and justice, as a protest song for a world that is riddled with injustice. The album will be sung in a program of carols that have been familiar to the members of Uranienborg since childhood.The Dalarna folk song "Make Way, O Lord Come," the Pudar tradition "Now the Bells Ring," the 14th century German "In Sweet Joy" with Norwegian lyrics "Singing Christmas Carols," and the Swedish Nudqvist "Christmas, Bright Christmas. Several songs for this album are also included. The Virgin Mary sings "Lullaby," with lyrics by Norwegian actor Svain Tindberg and composed by Bjerkestrand, who also plays synthesizer in this session. Lacrimosa" is inspired by Messiaen's compositional techniques and is for twelve mixed chorus voices, synthesizer and organ. The Christmas Bells, written by Marianne Leidasdattel Erichsen, who sings alto in the ensemble. Henrik Oudegaard's "Transeams (Come, Let Us Go to Bethlehem)" has the male chorus part arranged for mixed chorus by conductor Holte.The "What a Beautiful Blue Sky," a poem by N. F. S. Grøntvig, the "North Norwegian Christmas Carol," "Blessed is the Day of the Fjords," with lyrics and music by Trygve Hoff, and "The Son is Born in Bethlehem," a version by the Norwegian folk group Trispann, will be sung in arrangements by "Today" composers Kim André Arnesen, Oljan Matre, and Bjerkestrand.
