Description:
This is the first new album in two years since "Like A Baby," the first album after moving to Stones Throw, which quickly gained recognition in Japan. While following the path of the previous album, which captivated listeners from dream pop to AOR, the new album features a more raw sound, with the artist playing bass, guitar, and electric piano himself. This is especially evident on M-2 and M-6, where the crisp guitar cutting has a full-blown free soul feel, and definitely resonates with the likes of Tom Misch. On the other hand, the genius of the melody maker is still present in the mellow downer pop M-1 and M-9, which reminds one of "Friends" by the Beach Boys. The eye-popping, Daniel Johnston-esque, jokey jacket is a true testament to the Takuroku school of music. (C)Daisuke Okamoto
