MacLeish & Gabrieli Consort's new work! The fourth large orchestra project is Haydn's "The Four Seasons"! Paul MacLeish, a prodigy in the world of classical music, has been leading the Gabrieli Consort in the "Large Oratorio" project. Following Berlioz's "Requiem" (SIGCD 280), Mendelssohn's "Elia" (SIGCD 300), and Britten's "War Requiem" (SIGCD 340), the fourth release is Haydn's masterpiece "Four Seasons"! The National Forum of Music (NFM) in Wroclaw, Poland, brings together the Gabrieli Consort & Players, the National Forum of Music Choir, the Wroclaw Baroque Orchestra, and some of the greatest singers in ancient music, including Sampson, Ovenden and Foster-Williams. The Haydn's "Four Seasons" was performed using MacLeish's own revised score based on Bärenreiter's edition, and his meticulous research of the music and historical research was still in evidence this time around.Haydn's "Four Seasons", the result of MacLeish's "large-ensemble project", which is the opposite of "OVPP", will once again surprise the world!
