Commissioned new works by composers who continue to move forward and masterpieces spanning more than half a century A live recording centered on the "Shinichiro Ikebe 80th Birthday Concert" held in September 2023 is now available. The program consists of three parts, showcasing a variety of works Ikebe has created over more than half a century. In [Unaccompanied Chorus], "Sōmon I-III" is performed. This is a disc full of the charm of Ikebe's works, which continue to move forward even as he approaches his 80th birthday. ＜Shinichiro Ikebe (composer) Born in Mito City in 1943, Ikebe graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in 1967, and completed the graduate course at the same university in 1971. In the same year, he won the first prize in the Ongaku-no-tomo-sha Chamber Music Composition Competition and the Ongaku-no-tomo-sha Prize in 1968.
