DACHAMBO, Japan’s world-renowned psychedelic jam band, releases its 10th original album—the first in 10 years! 25 years since their formation. Japan’s psychedelic jam band—or, as they call themselves, the “Pleasure-Seeking Orchestra”—DACHAMBO has dropped their 10th original album, “bluedotwhiteline,” their first in 10 years. Since their formation in 2001, the “King of Party Jam Bands” has continued to set outdoor festivals ablaze both domestically and internationally with their one-of-a-kind sound that fuses digital elements with rock ’n’ roll. They have now transitioned to a minimalist lineup featuring synthesizers, guitar, bass, and backing drums, completing eight tracks of hyper-psychedelic dance music that has evolved into a more solid sound. Recorded at SoftStudio in Kyoto with Soft’s KND serving as engineer, the album was produced over the course of about a year through repeated experimentation and recording sessions—marking their first collaboration in 15 years. The cover art is an original illustration by Yasushi Kishida, the sixth-generation owner of “Zenkyo,” a long-established kimono shop in Kyoto with a 150-year history. It depicts “SmallBlueDot”—a blue dot representing Earth—and a “WhiteLine” connecting the universe and Japan (Wa). This image was inspired by the concept of “Pale Blue Dot” proposed by astronomer Carl Sagan, and it also serves as DACHAMBO’s current answer to the “music of a world without conflict” that they continue to explore throughout the album.
